Collage 17”x22”

This is one of three type explorations that I conducted last semester to reveal a deeper meaning behind the style of Dada in Germany (1917). Creating work in this style today creates an entirely new perspective for future generations to look back on. This left leaning political poster highlights several headlines from the wreckage of the Trump administration. Newspaper clippings were sourced from The New York Times and have been arranged alongside imagery to open a dialogue with its viewer. Each image is carefully selected and cut to represent grievances of liberal communities. The conglomerate of headlines, phrases, and photographs are intentionally placed to give an answer to the question posed on the poster: ‘Should Trump be Prosecuted?’. Dada is chock-full of symbolism and cultural references that reveal their reality; similarly, my work takes on the connotations of Weimar, Germany and creates a relationship between the times.
