Entertainment profit at the
expense of African-Americans

This timeline represents ten works of art done by the contemporary artist Kara Walker and Mark Steven Greenfield. These artists produce work separately but through research, they have proven to share many underlying themes, motifs, and references to historical events. Both Walker and Greenfield share the mission of bringing light to the horrific past in which Black people in America have endured. They create work that confronts the stereotypes that have been set in place by consumerism in efforts to empower the people of the Black community.
